The Guesthouse Le Dodici Lune proposes a travel in the discovery of the traditions and cultures of Matera. More than a simple guided tour. A full immersion in the culture, in the traditions of our ancestors and in the discovery of the territory of Matera, where the traveller becomes totally involved in it.
Duration: 3 nights and 4 days / 4 nights and 5 days
Equipment recommended: Trekking shoes, comfortable clothes, parka.
Activities: visit to an ancient mill; visit to a bakery for making bread; learning activity “how to make homemade pasta”, guests will learn how to prepare old shapes of homemade pasta like “orecchiette” and “cavatelli” that will be served at dinner with other local products. Guided tour around Sassi (Matera old city), excursion to “Parco della Murgia Materana”, visit to a winery and wine tasting, visit to The Crypt of the original Sin.
During June-July, guided tours to manor farms could be organised to assist directly to the harvest. In warm and starry nights, walking tours could be organised with explanation of stars by people who love astronomy.
This itinerary is for couples, groups of friends, families and adventurous people!
